I really like this camera. It is small enough to stick in your pocket, but the pictures have turned out great! I even accidentally left it outside in the rain one night, but the camera worked fine the next day. I would definitely recommend this camera.
Help answer the question about Canon PowerShot SD890IS Digital 10MP Camera
Which digital camera should I get?
At some point, I'll be looking into a DSLR but now is not that time. Right now I'm looking for a good (preferably great) point and shoot. I'd consider myself an advanced amateur at this point. I'm currently torn between the Nikon Coolpix S600 (10mp), the Canon PowerShot SD770IS Canon PowerShot SD890IS Digital 10MP Camera (10mp), Canon PowerShot SD950IS (12.1mp -- I know the "more is better" argument but as I don't really enlarge my pictures I'm a bit skeptical and it is a substantial price jump) and the Canon PowerShot SD890IS (10mp). I'm also sort of looking at Canon's A series, specifically Canon PowerShot A650IS, but I'm not sure about the A-battery requirement. Any thoughts?Anyone have any experience with any of these? Any insights? Based on what I'm looking at, would you recommend something totally different? I'm looking to order very quickly so any answers would be appreciated! Then again, there's also Nikon's p5100 or p80.

This is a wonderful camera for the basic photographer! It has everything you need and so much more! The pictures are amazing quality for the price, and there is also a feature on it where the camera zooms in to the faces of the people in the picture so that you can see if they are blinking or smiling before you even take the pic! It’s a great camera for an amazing price! I HIGHLY recommend this one!!
The camera works great. I used it at my granddaughter’s birthday and it kept up with her moving and running around. Pictures came out good and clear. It was easy to use and I don’t take pictures all that often. I took over a 120 pictures on a battery which had not been charged since before Thanksgiving. Great little camera.
The camera is great! My daughter loves it and it is small and portable. The camera charges with a small charger and looks great. I gave it 4 stars, not because of the camera, but because of the kit it came with. The value is pretty good considering that you get an extra battery, camera case that matches well to pink camera and other assorted stuff. However, just letting you know that the extra battery it comes with is NOT Canon. I honestly didn’t try the extra battery yet because the first one the camera comes with is still charged, but I was kind of surprised because it didn’t say it outright in the description. Soooo, good value, but ??? about the extra battery.
The camera is a small compact camera. I like it because if you shake just a little when you take the picture it does not come up blurred like some cameras. It is taking me a little while to figure out how to operate the camera. Overall it takes great pictures.Out of all the camera I had I like this one the best.
I used this camera only for two months, and it died right in the middle of our trip in Israel. It was a problem to expand/pull out lenses. I got system error message on the screen, and it was completely out of use, not even see pictures.
I always have this camera on me.
This small camera has all the quality and capability I need in a point and shoot
I love this camera. I bought it just after returning from a trip thinking only if I had a point and shoot in my purse for those up close candid pictures.
A couple of months later I was in New York taking photos, on the day I spent with family and I decided not to use my 1ds M3 just the p&S , I was able to take some amazing photos.

I tried out this camera as well as another Canon (SX200) and a Panasonic Lumix SZ1. These last two really are in another league from the sd890. But I was so impressed with what the sd 890 can do for its size, and actually the colour in the automatic mode is what in my opinion set it apart. The colour is true and natural. The flash indoor shots are beautiful, with natural colour and good saturation. I wanted a camera that I could leave in automatic mode and not think about anything other than capturing a good shot. This camera lets me do that easily. When it was first introduced, it was expensive but is now available at a very good price because it’s discontinued. For some reason some people really don’t like the design, but I think it’s very cool. It feels very good in your hand – very smooth with nothing jutting out. You soon get used to the on/off button and how to hold the camera so that it doesn’t feel like it’s going to slip out of your hand. Don’t hesitate to check it out. It’s a very, very nice little camera. (By the way, I ended up purchasing the sd890. I will do another review after I’ve had the camera for awhile.)
