First just want to share my experience…I got this camera before thanksgving, but there’s a problem…I returned it to amazon, because there’s a tiny dead pixel on the LCD I dont know if thats normal, it did’nt give me a peace of mind and it’s so annoying everytime you look at your LCD, so i returned and amazon replaced it for free, Thanks for them.
I really love this camera, made a lot of research then it really convinced me to buy this, all I can say this camera is compact and very powerful for zoom, you’ll get used to the pop out flash…also got my review for this camera at this link:

Hope this also could help for some buyers!

I researched cameras and read reviews plus we have friends that have Canons. I believe I got a GREAT camera for the $, the pictures are fabulous and it really is easy to use. I do not know about the battery life as we have only had it for a couple of weeks but so far it is still fully charged. Canon has AMERICAN support which is important to me. This was a deciding factor as well. I am very pleased with this camera.
i order Canon PowerShot SX200IS
Cost me 40% more expensive from the store
never again to order from Amazon
I read all reviews before purchasing Ace Photo & Digital Delux Accessory Outfit. Great bargain. Camera’s USB port cover is a little flimsy. Care must be taken in opening and closing. Also have Cannon PIXMA i4600 photo printer (excellent) so was able to connect camera to printer and print on 4 x 6 photo glossy paper immediately. Software & Camera ready for Windows 7. Took great video of Hot Air Baloonfest in Plano, TX.
I find this package fantastic. It is everything a beginner needs to get started. Nice camera with good zoom and many other fine features.
I am very satisfied, great photos, great videos, quality is super. I am recommending this product to all who’s hobby is photography. The Camera is almost for professionals.
Purchased this one because porting my digital SLR (Rebel) with lenses, etc, became a nuisance during business travel. Yet, I wanted versatile and high-quality optics. I am truly amazed by this instrument and lens in particular. 28 mm aperature, wide angle and a phenomenal 12x optical zoom. The best optics I’ve ever seen on a point-and-shoot camera. Battery life has been great; the LCD display is huge. Have not tried the video capture yet but have used for several hundred still shots already and I’m captivated by the quality from the macros to the wide angle to the zoomed-in shots.
Includes many of the programmable settings of my SLR so I rarely use the Auto or Easy settings. But for novices, I assume these settings are fine.
Transfer software is a little goofy (I’m used the EOS software for my SLR). So I don’t use it. But the SD card can be read directly by my PC (unlike my Rebel which wants to reformat between the camera and PC).
Highly recommend this camera to anyone who wants uncompromised quality. Assuming you have some basic photography skills, the output will be superior.
It’s a very good camera overall.
Picture quality is very good, but not as good as the Canon SD550.
Zooming is excellent.
The video quality is excellent in HD mode; however, it’s very big in size (433MB for a 2′30″ HD video).
The focus can’t be changed during videotaping.
It’s a little bit too big for carrying in the pocket.
This camera is great for beginners and advanced users. I would suggest reading the manual if you want to be technical with your photos. Can’t complain about video otherwise I’d get myself a camcorder or the CANON SX20 IS which was my other debate but I needed a compact camera for now. I can’t complain about this camera because I used to have a cybershot, so it’s a major upgrade!
