This camera was purchased for my wife after her old camera bit the dust after taking pictures in a haunted building.(True)
Out of the Box this camera has performed flawlessly, the automatic function is wonderful for those quick shots, which by the way are beautiful in focus with correct light balance. It also has the capability to manually set up for specific shots for the purist. My wife takes lots of pictures and the 2gb SD card included allows one to shoot all day. She has filled the card once with close to 800 pictures on the highest definition. Many more could be taken at the two lower settings, but she likes to play with the photoes in Picassa, and Photoshop. The high definition allows her to do almost anything she wants. Additionally the back view screen is wonderfully bright even in low light, the use of the view finder is almost never necessary. In Low light situations it will take a very nice pic with ambient lighting. Admittedly, the flash is needed in dark conditions and for shadow fill outdoors, (under trees for example).

Would recommend this camera to anyone who wants to take great pictures. It has great value to price paid, due to the many functions built in. When my existing camera goes belly up this camera or current version will be the one I look for.

The fujifilm digital camera s1000fd is a great camera to use

In fact to give this digital camera its full name is the Fujifilm - finepix 10.0 megapixel digital camera s1000fd.
This small but powerful fujifilm digital camera may look a bit utilitarian, but it handles very much like a small DSLR.
Indeed it is a very attractive option as an ultrazoom digital camera with a budget price.

Fuji with some justification can claim that the s1000fd, which by the way is the replacement for the s700, is the world's smallest 10 megapixel digital camera with a 12 x optical zoom.

The market place is somewhat overcrowded with similar digital cameras so what is it that makes the fujifilm digital camera s1000fd stand out in the crowd.

Recent fujifilm finepix s1000fd 10mp digital camera reviews are complimentary in the main.

The s1000fd is attractive as a camera compact, lightweight, and handles like its bigger camera cousins the DSLR range.
The camera is durable, stylish if somewhat utilitarian, but without batteries only weights a little over eleven ounces, and it measures 4.1 x 2.9 x 2.7 inches. Be aware that the s1000fd needs AA batteries which should be lithium, but even then their lifetime isn't huge.

In terms of features the Fujifilm FinePix s1000fd has everything you would expect, although it doesn't have image stabilisation. The control layout seems fairly logical and easy to use, and more importantly to get at.
The FujiFilm Finepix s1000fd is definitely built for camera enthusiasts who are between the simple point and shoot and the DSLR.

You will have fun with this digital camera and its optical zoom, and it would make a good present for an enthusiastic amateur.

I bought this as an upgrade from a little point and shoot Fuji because I wanted the optical zoom that this camera offered that my previous Fuji did not. What a mistake! This camera is awful. I’ve tried all the different settings and scenes, I’ve tried the stabilizer and resetting the entire camera. Nothing helps. The pictures are always blurry. Even if it looks perfect on the screen, when you snap the shot the result is a blur – not slightly blurry, but so blurry you can’t even tell what the photo is most of the time. I get so frustrated trying to use it because I have to delete 20 photos for every one photo I get that is acceptable (or only slightly blurry). I will never buy Fuji again – I’m looking for a new brand this Christmas. Save yourself some frustration and look elsewhere.

This is an SLR-like camera. Therefor, learning how to use the different control settings may take a little dedication, like an actual SLR would. This camera is for the more serious hobbyist or enthusiast. Once you get past the homework, it’s FABULOUS!!!! Amazing zoom, gorgeous clear images. I’m glad I learned how to use this camera before taking my professional leap to the SLR. I still use this camera for quick and convenient shooting, so I don’t have to mess with changing any lenses. This camera actually produces crisper details than my Nikon SLR. I would highly recommend this camera to anyone who really cares about the quality of their photos, as well as anyone toying with the idea of becoming a professional.

I upgraded to this camera from a Canon powershot, and let me just say…I’ll never use anything but a canon again. The picture quality is horrible, and even if it looks good and focused on the lcd it appears blurry on the computer and prints. I’m trying to upgrade to an SLR camera before this camera ruins my passion for photography

My new Fuji Finepix S1000fd is SO BAD it has to be defective in some way. I’ve owned a manual setting Minolta for years and then the last five years owned a little Fuji Finepix 250. I loved the 250, the best camera I ever owned. I couldn’t accept that the S1000 was such a horrible camera. Took me months of trying everything and experimenting with every setting on the camera and even downloaded extra instructions off the Internet to finally accept that it is not me, its the camera. I’m not digital camera illiterate and the complicated settings are very hard to become accustomed to. Half the time the buttons don’t work, (its not on delay setting) so that added to the insanity. Oh, I wish I had my Finepix 250 back!! I never want to pick this camera back up again even if it was fixed. Now I have to go through the hoopla of paying shipping to repair and taking the chance that they say nothing is wrong after that extra expense. I wish there was a minus rating to give this camera.

Takes nice pictures if the light is right. No manual focus. Not threaded for attachments. Very slow! Not quick enough to keep up with my toddler.

I owned this camera recently, and sent it back. Buy a Canon, or Sony. don’t waste your time with this one. The reviews on this one are right on, believe me, I know. I purchased the real deal this time, so should you. Don’t buy it.

I bought this camera for someone else but he said it is a great camera. I saw some of the pictures he took and they looked really good.
