Bought 3 for my Fuji camera. All work OK so far (2 weeks). Good life.
If you are like one of an estimated 75 million owners of a digital camera, at some point in time, your camera will more than likely develop one or more problems and would be in need of digital camera repair. Common problems include cracked LCDs, broken battery doors, jammed lenses or board level problems.
There are a set of digital camera models however, that develop their own unique problems, all stemming back to a batch of defective CCDs that Sony produced and used in these camera models.
What's the big deal with the faulty CCD? Well Sony produced a series of CCDs for various digital cameras between the years of 2003 and 2005, for at least 20 different models. And in higher heat and humidity conditions, the CCDs would begin to fail, producing some crazy looking images or causing a black screen to show on your camera.
Here is a list of all the bad Sony CCD models that I can find right now, as I find more, I will add them to the list.

* Finecam SL400R
At this time, both announcements only seem to cover the Japanese domestic market. We've yet to see any announcement from Kyocera in other markets, and would advise customers who have experienced the problem to contact their local Kyocera office to determine whether their camera may be covered under warranty. For customers in Japan, instructions on how to seek repair of the covered digicams can be found in the Japanese-language service advisory.
Leica and Panasonic Digital Cameras
* Leica DIGILUX 2
* Panasonic Lumix DMC-LC1
In December 2006, we told readers about a warranty extension for Leica's DIGILUX 2 digital camera, covering problems with the CCD image sensor. Given that the Leica DIGILUX 2 is a variant of Panasonic's Lumix DMC-LC1 design, it isn't surprising to find that some LC1 digicams can suffer from the same problem.
Panasonic Canada have published a notice on their customer support page indicating a limited number of 2004 model DMC-LC1 digital cameras within a specific range of serial numbers are affected. The serial number ranges are A4SYxxxxx and G4SYxxxxx. Canadian customers are asked to call Panasonic Canada's toll-free call center number at 1-800-561-5505 for assistance in arranging a free repair.

As Sony is the original sensor manufacturer for all of the other manufacturers' products listed above (and given the vast array of products that they manufacture themselves) it should come as no great surprise that Sony has by far, the greatest number of affected products. This should not be taken as indicating any inherent deficiency in Sony products beyond the now discontinued sensors involved.
No service forms or mailing addresses are provided on the Sony US site. Rather, owners are instructed to contact the Sony Customer Information Services Center for further assistance at 1-866-703-7669.
I hope you are able to get your camera repair for free! Good luck, and let me know if you do!

Help answer the question about Olympus CAMEDIA C 740 Camera
Olympus Camedia C-740 XD memory card question?
A friend of mine has the above mentioned digital camera, and he bought two 2gb XD memory cards- (fujifilm xD-Picture Card M 2gb- DPC-M2GB). Olympus CAMEDIA C 740 Camera But neither worked, considering they are 'M' type and that camera model accepts M type why aren't they working? The same cards work in other cameras but not theirs... Any suggestions?Yes he said it was saying something about that? I know a good deal about cameras so i know how to format the thing, do you think that's what will make it work? :-D

These certainly work well in my Olympus D-580 4MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom, and last a lot longer than alkaline batteries, but I only got about 300 images, and a few short (3 minute) movies out of one battery. And if I did a lot of optical zooming, the camera would slow down for a bit until it rested. When the first battery in the 2 pack died, I put in a new one. I’ve taken around 30 photos on the new battery, and then I checked the voltage on it compared to the one I hadn’t used yet: 2.928 volts for the “dead” one, and 2.967 on the new one. Pretty close!
I just got the 2 NEW Lithium-Ion BATTERY & CHARGER For KODAK CR-V3 CRV3 C743 / DX4530 / DX6330 / DX6340 set and couldn’t be more pleased; 2 rechargeable batteries and charger, and for about the same price as this 2 pack!
These batteries were difficult to find locally. I received them for a great price and in a very timely manner.
The supplied batteries were exactly as expected. Delivery was on time and the quality is first rate
good price and great battery life – and we take lots of pictures. What else can you say?
Cannot beat the price compared to what I’ve been purchasing at local stores. Since my camera is an Olympus Digital, I thought why not try the manufacturers brand as I had never seen them sold anywhere, especially the “big box” stores where I bought my camera. These batteries have powered my camera superbly and in fact are cheaper than the Digital Double AA’s now on the market. Recommend.
No complaints about the battery – works as advertised. I haven’t been able to tell the difference between this battery and the Olympus battery.
Pretty unsure of the camera at this point! Seems to be excellent and I love Amazon although it seems if camera comes with dead battery there are no options to get it resolved accept dealing with manufacture directly. Simple solution is to get new battery but it looks like I have to return to Amazon or try to figure out how to get a huge manufacturer to send new battery.
So warning if you get camera get the better battery as option. I also could of swore it came with a 4 meg memory card but again no such thing! First camera I bought that has no memory card at all. I think the camera will be awesome just didn’t realize I had to buy both battery and memory to make it functional.
Hopefully the rest of the people who get this camera are not having same issue!!
purchased this battery and used it for approximately 20 photos and one 30 second video and then it died. I would never recommend this battery.
low cost batterty that works well, only problem I’ve had was above 10,000′ on Mt. Rainier, at low temperature, battery lost power.
