I bought this product for my new Olympus Stylus Tough 8000 which was per description one of the cameras that would fit the case but I found that the camera hardly fit the case. When putting the camera in the zipper was very tight and hard to close. I ended up buying another case.
I am still giving 3 stars because the case itself is very solid and well worth the money if it fits your camera.

The camera is used on a daily basis for field visits and works great. You can adjust the megapixels. It has different settings. We now have 4 of these and different colors to tell them apart. Great camera for the price.
I bought this particular model back in the spring 2008, as I wanted to upgrade from the 3.5mp camera I was using at that time. I was so pleased with the 310’s performance since then, that for Christmas this year, 2009, I am buying one for my mom, who has never used a digital camera before.
The first feature I like is the Image Stabilization- No more blurred iamges!!!
The second feature I like is the camera menu and settings are very user friendly and easy to learn.
The third feature I liked is when I accidently dropped mine into a lake in 9 feet of water- I thought for sure it was toast. But after taking it out of the water, pulling the batteries out, the memory card out, and letting it dry in the sun for a day, it still worked!!!!
This truely is a great camera overall.
We all need a digital camera which is “user friendly”, and this is the camera!
Unlike the “one” negative comment, this review is right-on!
P.S., Just as with all digital cameras/realted devices…you must use Lithium Batteries for optimum performance. This is clearly recommended in the owner’s manual so let’s be fair when blogging.
Don’t touch it with a 10 foot barge pole, battery life is nil. From various issues I have seen on the web it is a design issue. Basically the only batteries I can get to work are the expensive lithium ones and then if you leave then it the discharge over a couple of months of non use.
Was going to let my girls play with it but I spend to much on batteries.
I’m 13 and so yea…
I bought this camera at target because i wanted to upgrade from my out of date hp camera. It was on sale, so I thought it was a good buy.
But the camera it self is terrible.
The battery life is very poor, so you would have to get rechargables and the shutter button doesnt work properly. You have to hold it down for like, a minute until it actually takes the picture.
Picture quality would probably be like, a C-. It’s lame, i have to edit all of my pictures for them to look good
When you delete a picture, that’s a whole other problem. I am thinking of a buying a waterproof camera, and i noticed that olympus has them also, Yea, right like i’d waste my money on another lame camera by Olympus.
If your looking for a good camera, I’d recommend canon or nikon. The image quality on those are really good.
I also bought this camera and experienced poor battery life. After reading the reviews I was ready to box it up and ship it back. At the last minute I decided to give it another try and work the batterys. I bought 2 each of every battery that said digital camera. I also measured the short circuit current of each type of battery. What I found is this camera (and every camera that uses AA’s) needs high current NOT high capacity. The flash is essentially a dead short. When the engineers built the bigger zoom (5X) they made the flash bigger. The bigger flash it put a hugh load on the batterys. The best batterys that I found were the Hybrios (new style NiMh that holds it charge for a year another benefit). The Sony high current also worked. When I tested it with fresh charged batterys I gave up after 80 consecutive forced flashs in a row and I got tired of testing. Previously I could get about ten flashes before the batterys failed. This included alkaline as they do not like being shorted. So bottom line is you need about 8 amps short circuit current to make the camera live. Six amps short circuit does not work and the age of the cells counts for a lot. I have tried these cells in a DSLR with the same results they last a long time.
Reading buyer comments from a number of sites, it’s clear that TERRIBLE battery life is a common issue. Mine worked well only for <100 shots and a handful of videos. Since then, the "battery has no charge" message displays after one shot. I've had the same results whether I'm using rechargeables or alkalines.
Other issues include a pause between pushing the button and the actual shot, giving somewhere in the neighborhood of 3 seconds waiting time– enough for most candid shots to be a miss. And Olympus support basicaly said, “It’s a low priced camera, and that’s all it does.”
Awful product, awful support. It’s back to canon PowerShots from here on!

This is a hard case with no flexibility; the camera has to be “squeezed” into it,although it states that it is meant for my particular camera. I will not use it. You get what you pay for.
I bought this product for my new Olympus Stylus Tough 8000 which was per description one of the cameras that would fit the case but I found that the camera hardly fit the case. When putting the camera in the zipper was very tight and hard to close. I ended up buying another case.

There is a lot to like about this camera – and if you want a small, automatic digicam that uses ordinary AA batteries, this is a good one – UNLESS you plan to do a lot of indoor photography under low light situations. I found that in night-time photography, under low light situations, the camera could only achieve a focus lock in 1 out of 7 attempts. When I turned on a few lights it was fine. Outdoors, or in any bright light, it was just fine – great, in fact! Close-ups were great, colors great, interface great. BUT too infuriating under the above conditions, so I returned it.
This is a nice camera, but I must address the one problem that everybody complains about in respect to this camera as well as others by Olympus. Short battery life. Don’t use regular alkaline batteries or NIMH rechargeables (that Olympus recommends). They work but for only a few shots. Use only lithium batteries in Olympus cameras and you can just keep on shooting and shooting and shooting. You won’t ever have any more battery problems. Lithium batteries are a little pricey but they work very well.
