Ordinary cameras seldom capture the full impact of breathtaking landscapes, city sony-cybershot-digital-cameras Sony Cybershot DSC-W100 Camera Guidelinesony-cybershot-digital-cameras Sony Cybershot DSC-W100 Camera Guidelinesony-cybershot-digital-cameras Sony Cybershot DSC-W100 Camera GuidelinePanoramic pictures made easyscenes and tall buildings. Even if you’ve got a wide angle lens, it’s hard to squeeze everything into the frame and do the scene justice.

To pack more into the picture, photographers traditionally use the trick of shooting several frames, shifting the camera’s position to capture different parts of the scene. These shots are combined to create one extra-large image. However it’s a fiddly manual process that demands skill and patience to stitch frames together without obvious joins.

Now there’s a fun, easy way to create seamless, ultra-wide pictures with a huge field of view of up to 224 degrees. Even at the lowest horizontal panoramic setting you’ll get a field of view of 108 degrees: that’s equivalent to a wide angle lens with a focal length of just 14mm.

Sweep Panorama takes the hard work out of creating fabulous panoramic shots. And best of all, you don’t need a PC or special software: Sony Cybershot DSC-W100 Camera everything’s done for you inside the camera.

Exclusive to Sony, Sweep Panorama is featured on the Cyber-shot™ WX1, TX1 and HX1. They’re the world’s first compact cameras that automatically capture and combine a high-speed burst of full-resolution images.

Just press the shutter button and sweep the camera from left to right across your scene. It also works vertically, letting you sweep the camera up and down to capture tall buildings in a single, dramatic image. The ultra-fast EXMOR CMOS sensor inside the camera shoots a rapid burst of frames at a speed that many sophisticated SLR cameras can’t match. Frames are then stitched together automatically inside the camera: the whole process takes just three seconds.

Standard Wide mode captures dramatic panoramic shots with detail-packed 4912 x 1080 pixel resolution (40:9 ratio). If you want an even bigger field of view, choose Ultra-wide mode and capture amazing 60:9 images with 7152 x 1080 pixels. You can also hold the camera vertically (in portrait position) and shoot extra-tall panoramas in standard (16:9) or ultra-wide (32:9) modes.

This was a fraction of the Sony case price and they look basically the same. I have had no problems with mine at all. Thanks for saving me 20. + $$

Excellent product. Well made. Supple material. he seams are perfect. it’s exactly how it’s described. I highly recommend this item.

This is fine for protecting my camera from scratches. Love the pink. I thought the pink handle for the camera was a bonus, but was disappointed when it broke on about day 7. Good thing i kept my old strap around.

Cao December 16, 2009 at 1:57 pm

This isn’t the real Sony case made by them, it’s a knockoff.

I actually bought this so if I lose or scratch it I can buy another one.

But it looks 95% like the real thing.

Chandler December 16, 2009 at 2:25 pm

The camera case was really pretty and very affordable. However, it was too small for my Sony Cybershot DSC-W120.

Handy December 16, 2009 at 3:55 pm

I bought this camera last February, every year, I buy a different camera, each year a better one, On december 2006 I bought a $500.00, 10Mega Pixel digital camera to replace my 6MP, but after going to the store and seeing the SONY W100 I was hooked, I returned the other camera and bought this for $360.00! IT WASN’T easy buying this camera since it was so hard to get.!! Ive had it for a year and I LOVE IT! this is the fisrt year I havent bought a new camera…..

ITS REALLY STURDY, AND IT FEELS GREAT IN MY HADNS, ALL THE BUTTONS ARE LOCATED VERY WELL AND EASY TO LOCATE!,, 8MP ARE MORE THAN ENOUGH, THE PICTURES COME OUT CRISP, VIVID COLORS AND ARE ALWAYS GREAT.. THE BEST THING THAT I LOVE ABOUT THIS CAMERA, IS THE REALLY HIGH ISO. ITS PERFECT, WHEN IM IN A WEDDING AND TAKING PICTURES WITH OUT FLASH THEY COME OUT SHARP NOT BLURRY AND CLEAR!! PERFECT.. i LOVE THIS CAMERA AND WOULDN’T TRADE IT FOR ANYTHING. I BOUGHT A 3 YEAR WARRANTY FOR IT WICH DID COST ME A LEG AND AN ARM, BUT THIS IS A CAMERA THAT I PLAN ON HAVING AND USING FOR A LONG TIME! ! THIS CAMERA IS THE BEST, IVE TRIED ALL CAMERAS FROM, FUJI, KODAK, HP, CASIO, POLAROID, CANON, NIKON, SAMSUNG, AND I SAID THAT I WOULD NEVER USE A SONY BECAUSE OF THE MEMORY CARDS.. BUT WHEN I TRIED THIS CAMERA,, MEMORY CARDS WHERE THE LAST THING ON MY MIND!!! LOVE IT!! RECOMENDED 100%%%% BUY IT! —– IM GOING TO UPLOAD A FEW PHOTOS SO YOU CAN SEE THE QUALITY OF THE PICTURES!! ALL OF MY PICTURES WILL START WITH A TITLE OF ”’DSDUARTE”’

Beddow December 16, 2009 at 5:04 pm

First, I bought this camera about a year ago for $249. Why is is being sold for $599 is beyond me. DON’T SPEND THIS MUCH!!! This camera is average at best. 8.1mp is pointless, I can take a picture on a Canon 7.2mp and it is clearer. This camera breaks easily and takes disapointing pictures. I won’t be purchasing a Sony camera again. I assumed that it would be a really good one because of Sony’s good reputation, but next time I am going with a company that specializes in cameras. Think Canon or Nikon for a superior camera.

Gilday December 16, 2009 at 5:59 pm

I have used the heck out of this camera at work. I own the panasonic lumix (hubbie picked it out) and found it to be very hard to use. I was always taking blurry pics. Hubbie loves it but to me it’s not user friendly. This camera is! We have the Cybershot 8.1 at work & I use it every chance I get. It takes wonderful pics. Way less blurry “group” shots than my Lumix. Has a much better image stabilizer. I am so happy with this camera. Hubbie still loves the lumix but this one works much better for me. So happy hubbie got it for me for Christmas! Really happy to know that he got it on ebay for about 1/4 the price.

Iglesias December 16, 2009 at 6:27 pm

DON’T BUY A CYBERSHOT!!!!!!!!!! I really loved this camera. I bought it to use at work to take pictures and update our website. I loved it so much that I bought one for myself. It was stored in my desk at work and was only used once or twice a month… About 1 year and 3 days after the purchase date, the lcd screen turned white. it just quit working. None of the fixes work. There are hundreds of people saying that this has happened to them with the Cybershot cameras, but since my model number wasn’t included in the “recall” for free repair, no one will help. Their customer service stinks. I can pay to send it in to them and pay more than I paid for the camera to get it fixed, or I can trash it and start over. It’s been almost a year since I bought my personal one. I’m betting it’s days are numbered too…

Ives December 16, 2009 at 8:07 pm

Maybe I got a bad one in the bunch. But this camera I bought only takes blurry and grainy pictures. Yes I know to hold the halfway for a second to let it focus, it doesn’t matter. It’s still blurry. The settings are on auto. I’ve tried other settings it’s the same result.

A waste of 350+ dollars. My old camera (that had a mechanical flaw so I returned it) was much better, with less megapixels (Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX7). Unfortunately with Sony’s camera, I had the feeling it was blurry, but didn’t return it in time. Big mistake.

In the end it’s all about the lens, not so much megapixels.

I’ll never buy from Sony again. It’s overpriced, overmarketed and shoddy.

Keville December 16, 2009 at 8:35 pm

this charger is terrible! i highly DO NOT recommend getting it. it’s a generic charger, generic battery, that charges terribly! don’t waste your time or money on the cheap cheap product!

Gilly December 16, 2009 at 9:44 pm

There are a number of poor reviews for this item. While I understand and respect the opinions of those reviewers, it is my personal opinion that this item is worthy of a fairer praise, given its price.

Many consumers who are in need of a replacement battery for their Sony Cybershot (and I’m assuming other) cameras do not want to pay the exorbitant prices that Sony and camera repair shops charge for the factory replacement batteries. My guess is that Google searching led most of them to Amazon and this product. Why were they Google searching? It’s because they wanted to pay less. Well I don’t want to be rude here, but there is a reason some products cost less than others; the whole “you get what you pay for” saying comes to mind.

That being said, considering you get a perfectly fine (in my experience) battery AND a charger for about 1/3 the cost of the factory replacement battery alone, I find it hard to complain too much. Obviously if the battery charger terminals never meet up with the contacts on the battery, the battery will not charge, which of course would be quite frustrating. When buying a new product, I would not expect to have to modify it in any way to get it to work, but I imagine that manipulating the charger’s terminals with a small pair of pliers or tweezers would fix the the issue. I did not have to do this with my charger, but I could tell by looking at it (and even before I bought it) that quality control would be less than ideal.

One kind of has to take the quality of a product like this with a grain of salt due to its cost. The charger works for me, the battery charges in good time, and my Sony Cybershot has been revived. It’s a solid buy at less than $20.

Kawell December 16, 2009 at 10:37 pm

Very good price and combination. Got everything I needed on time and everything worked exactly like the set that come with the camera. Everything performs well and I have no complaints.

Holguin December 16, 2009 at 11:54 pm

The metal components to charge the battery were on the wrong side of the charger, therefore no contact was made and the battery would not charge.

Legacy December 17, 2009 at 12:40 am

Lost the battery charger somewhere in Chicago that came with my DSC-N1. Since I did not want to pay crazy high prices for official Sony swag, I went this route. Some people complain the battery does not fit in the charger quite right, but we had no problems there. The bottom line is that this is a crazy deal for a battery AND a charger and you would be nuts to give it a bad review if it works. AND IT WORKS. Charges the Sony battery just fine too.

Moore December 17, 2009 at 2:11 am

It’s so cute ..I ordered it as a gift 4 my friend 2 go along with the Sony Cyber Shot camera i got her for her birthday & she oved it! The baby blue line and inside the case is the same color of the camera :)

Jaynes December 17, 2009 at 2:45 am

The case is really nice and fits my sony camera perfectly. There is a negative aspect to the case though, the strap is not attached to the case. When I take the camera out of the case I have to grasp the case while holding the camera. Its a bit annoying sometimes though. I would recommend you to sew the strap onto the case so you can hand it around your wrist. :)

Killeen December 17, 2009 at 3:50 am

a wonderful little camera case. I own two. the blue and white color for my silver cybershot, and the pink and white color for my pink cybershot. they feel nice and are adorable. they also fit like a glove :) if you want to buy it, I would say buy it

Freibergs December 17, 2009 at 4:27 am

this case looks very good in the website but when i got it i was disappointed, the quality is not good.it looks very rough and its leather stretches over the period of time..

Flaherty December 17, 2009 at 5:46 am

Really cute case. I found it to be a little snug on my camera, but the leather stretches out over time (I just left my camera in the case for a few days) so now it snaps better. Great deal for the price. Looks great.
